As 2022 comes to a close I wanted to share something to bring peace, focus and calm to your lives for 2023.
I try to spend time each evening meditating and find I start, then stop, and my mind wanders. This really means I need to meditate!
During December I’ve been recovering from ankle surgery, and have been homebound most of the time. I have been blessed with time during my recovery and wanted to try something I’ve been thinking about for a while. With my love of colour and need to meditate to bring balance to my life, I created what I call Meditation Stones – see below for instructions. Using yellows and oranges give energy and positivity, using blues and greens and calming and centring.
There are a lot of guided meditations and some that use colour. Colour and affirmations can bring positivity and raise your vibration. I painted some smooth stones, first with white, then with patterns or pictures. When I meditate, I choose a Meditation Stone that calls to me, place it in my hands, close my eyes with soft music, and begin my meditation. I find when I hold my stone, if my mind wanders, I bring my attention back to my breathing, and the image or affirmation on the stone. I can feel the weight of the stone in my hand, and this also brings me back to centre.
I thought they would also be great to keep one with an affirmation on my bedside table, and wake up to see the affirmation as I wake up and before I go to bed. My current one is “I am healed”.
