Just a quick note to my post on curtains, I sourced some great fabric for a client for her daughter’s room, and it really added character. The walls are a neutral and the blinds a clean and crisp white, giving a fresh look, it just needed some character.
The room is south facing and is on the corner of a busy road. The curtains are block out fabric to block out the street lights and headlights. During the day they can be pulled back (ties to hooks on the architrave) giving maximum light for the south facing room. My client (and her daughter) love the pattern and plan to add removable stickers to the wall to compliment the curtains – swirling trees with birds.
From a colour perspective, pink is loving, soothing and uplifting, encouraging a positive self-esteem, beautiful for children. To make the room complete, adding splashes of colour of light green (balancing, calming – perfect for sleep) and a blue tone (calming, good for sleep, soothing), the room is a wonderful space for a girl to dream in.
