Who has dreams and goals?
Do you have trouble achieving them?
While we were driving, my 5 year old daughter starting telling us things she wanted to do – ice skating, indoor rock climbing, stay on a farm and lots more. We all added something and ended up with a lovely long list. I wrote them down and forgot about them! Not the best way to achieve goals – who can relate to this? One weekend we were wondering what we could do and thought about our goal list.
You all probably know the importance of writing down goals as this cements them into your unconscious. I’ve used vision boards before and wanted to try something new. I was inspired after reading “Creative Visualization” by Shakti Gawain, using part of her “Pink Bubble Technique.
This is what I came up with. I used some colours that I loved and wrote each goal on a bubble. The ones down the bottom are the goals, the ones floating away are the goals we have achieved. I love this because it’s added some colour to a blank wall, it’s fun and I feel inspired when I look at it. It’s also a great hint when we’re looking for something to do. Here’s the close up.
Once the circles were cut I used “Blu Tak” to stick them to the wall. It sticks and comes right off.
I’ve used words and included one picture for inspiration, and I black text because it feels solid and real to me.
This can be great for kids learning to read or getting them excited about an activity. Great for tracing, writing and cutting skills.
Have a play with this and see if it inspires you.
Some tips:
I traced around a bowl and cut out each circle – good meditation for me.
Buy precut circles from a craft store.
Choose colours that make you feel good.
Choose goals that you really want – if you don’t really want to achieve it, you won’t make it happen
What has more meaning for you – words or pictures? Use either, or both.
Type and print if technology is the way to go for you.
Can generate it all on your computer and use as a screen saver.
The main part of this exercise is to have fun and be creative.
Until next time…
